Health and Beauty Canadian College (HBCC)<\/strong> Health and Beauty Canadian College has established admission criteria to ensure that applicants possess the academic preparedness, language proficiency, and personal suitability required to successfully complete this professional vocational program. Applicants are advised to review the College\u2019s Application Process<\/strong> policy prior to submission.<\/p>\n To be eligible for admission, applicants must submit documentation demonstrating successful completion of all<\/strong> of the following requirements:<\/p>\n Completion of a Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12)<\/strong> or equivalent or higher.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Completion of two senior-level (Grade 11 or higher)<\/strong> Science and\/or Physical Education credits with a minimum grade of 65%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Official academic transcripts from secondary and post-secondary institutions (if applicable).<\/p>\n International transcripts must be translated into English and notarized<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n Proof of English language proficiency through one of the following (if applicable):<\/p>\n Grade 12 English credit from a Canadian secondary school; or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Official IELTS or TOEFL<\/strong> results meeting Grade 12 equivalency standards.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n Mature Student applicants must:<\/p>\n Be at least 18 years of age<\/strong> at the time of application;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Successfully complete a Superintendent-approved qualifying test<\/strong>; and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Meet English proficiency requirements equivalent to Grade 12.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n Courses and academic equivalencies must be approved by the College Admissions Officer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Submission of a brief written assignment<\/strong> as part of the enrolment application.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Submission of a copy of passport identification pages (photo and address)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Important Notice:<\/strong> Health and Beauty Canadian College will not<\/strong>, under any circumstances, retain or withhold a student\u2019s passport, visa, or immigration documents.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n The language of instruction at Health and Beauty Canadian College is English<\/strong>. All students must demonstrate proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Applicants whose previous education was not conducted in English must provide proof of English language proficiency equivalent to Grade 12 Canadian secondary school standards<\/strong>, demonstrated by:<\/p>\n Official IELTS or TOEFL results; and\/or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A minimum score of 70%<\/strong> on the College\u2019s Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension Test; or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A minimum passing score of 50%<\/strong> on the Wonderlic Assessment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Mature Student applicants must meet all<\/strong> of the following criteria:<\/p>\n Be 19 years of age or older<\/strong> at the time of application;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Successfully complete a Superintendent-approved qualifying test<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Provide official IELTS or TOEFL results demonstrating Grade 12 English equivalency;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Successfully pass a qualifying entrance examination;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Submit a written personal statement in English<\/strong> outlining their suitability for the Esthetics program;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Submit a current resume written in English<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Provide a copy of passport identification pages.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Health and Beauty Canadian College does not<\/strong> retain passport or immigration documentation under any circumstances.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n All student records are maintained in strict confidence and include admission documents, attendance records, assessments, grades, and transcripts. Student information will only be released to third parties upon written authorization<\/strong> from the student.<\/p>\n Student Evaluation Reports are issued:<\/p>\n At the mid-point<\/strong> of the program (Week 14); and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Upon program completion<\/strong> (Week 28).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n To be awarded a Diploma in Esthetics<\/strong>, students must:<\/p>\n Achieve a minimum grade of 70% in all courses<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Achieve a minimum average of 70% in all practical skills examinations<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Demonstrate professional and ethical conduct in accordance with College policies;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Satisfy all financial obligations to the College.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Course evaluation is based on a weighted average<\/strong> of examinations, quizzes, assignments, attendance, and final assessments as outlined by the instructor at the start of each course.<\/p>\n Students who do not achieve a passing grade may be eligible to write a Supplemental Examination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n A successful Supplemental Examination results in a recorded PASS (70%)<\/strong> on the transcript.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Students who do not successfully complete a course after a Supplemental Examination may be required to:<\/p>\n Re-take the course when next offered; or<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Complete remediation and re-write the examination.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n All academic decisions are made by the Education Director<\/strong> on an individual basis.<\/p>\n To successfully complete each course, students must:<\/p>\n Achieve a minimum 70% course average<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Complete and submit all required assignments, projects, and presentations;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Meet attendance requirements as specified in the Course Outline;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Achieve a minimum 70%<\/strong> in Oral-Practical Examinations;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Comply with all additional course-specific and clinical requirements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Health and Beauty Canadian College upholds the highest standards of academic integrity. Dishonesty, including cheating and plagiarism, is not tolerated.<\/p>\n Students must strictly comply with all examination rules established by the Exam Proctor. Violations may result in:<\/p>\n Immediate removal from the examination;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n A final mark of zero<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Additional disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion<\/strong>, at the discretion of the Education Director.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n Plagiarism, including copying from other students, textbooks, or internet sources, is considered academic misconduct. Students found in violation may face disciplinary action up to and including expulsion.<\/p>\n Regular attendance is mandatory to ensure competency development.<\/p>\n Absences due to illness or emergency must be supported by acceptable documentation and submitted within two days<\/strong> of return.<\/p>\n Students missing more than one-third<\/strong> of scheduled classes may be required to repeat the course or complete remediation, at the discretion of the Education Director.<\/p>\n Only two unexcused absences per subject per semester<\/strong> are permitted.<\/p>\n Late arrival exceeding designated grace periods is recorded as an unexcused absence. Repeated lateness may trigger an attendance review.<\/p>\n Students exceeding allowable unexcused absences may be deemed ineligible<\/strong> to write final examinations.<\/p>\n All examinations are administered under conditions and schedules determined by the College, which retains full discretion over examination procedures.<\/p>\n Students must notify the College in advance and provide documentation within 48 hours<\/strong>. Failure to do so results in a grade of zero<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Students with a final grade of 60% or higher<\/strong> may be eligible for a Supplemental Examination.
